The International Trade Centre (ITC) in Sierra Leone is implementing a project to boost youth employment and entrepreneurship through digital technologies. This initiative supports SMEs with branding and communication to enhance their market positioning and visibility. The Photographer Consultant role is integral to this component, providing high-quality visual content for participating Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
Job purpose
The Photographer Consultant will produce high-quality visual content for 15-17 MSMEs in Sierra Leone as part of the 'Empowering youth through digital technologies' project. This involves capturing brand storytelling and product photography to enhance the market positioning, presentation, and visibility of these enterprises across various channels. The role contributes directly to strengthening the competitiveness and digital presence of SMEs, supporting the project's objectives of boosting youth employment and entrepreneurship. The consultant will plan, execute, and finalize photography assignments, ensuring visual assets are professional, consistent, and suitable for diverse promotional materials, ultimately supporting ITC's development goals.
Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate photography assignments by participating in briefing sessions, analyzing MSME requirements, and developing detailed photography schedules. Execute brand storytelling photography to capture the identity and activities of each MSME, including team members, workspaces, production processes, and customer interactions. Produce professional product photography for relevant MSMEs, capturing multiple angles of up to five products per enterprise. Ensure consistent visual quality, adapt styles to business sectors, and deliver images suitable for websites, social media, brochures, and catalogues. Edit and retouch all photographs, integrate feedback, organize files, and deliver final high-resolution and web-optimized versions. Submit a summary report of completed assignments, adhering to ITC's communication and visibility guidelines.
Education
A Bachelor's degree in Photography, Visual Arts, Communication, Media, or a related field is required. Extensive relevant experience may substitute for a university degree. A professional client portfolio is mandatory.
Work experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial photography is required. Experience in storytelling and product photography, content creation for SMEs, and proficiency with professional editing software are essential. Experience in entrepreneurship or development programmes is desirable.
