Data Platform Owner (Databricks) in Basel

We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Owner (Databricks) to lead the strategy, governance, and operation of a modern cloud-based data platform. You will own the Databricks environment end-to-end, driving platform architecture, security, compliance, performance, and cost optimization while supporting business‑critical data and analytics initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage the Databricks platform, including roadmap, operations, security, compliance, and governance.
• Lead the development of a scalable AWS‑based lakehouse platform with standardized Dev/Test/Prod environments.
• Define platform standards for Unity Catalog, data governance, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and data integration.
• Enable integration with enterprise systems such as SAP, MES, LIMS, eQMS, and ELN.
• Ensure compliance with GxP requirements, data integrity standards (ALCOA+), audit readiness, and access controls.
• Drive platform performance, monitoring, incident management, vendor relationships, and cost optimization.
• Support self‑service analytics capabilities through documentation, onboarding, and best practices.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in data platform engineering or ownership, including 3+ years managing Databricks in production environments.
• Strong expertise in Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, Databricks SQL, and AWS services (IAM, VPC, S3, KMS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of GxP‑regulated environments, GAMP 5, CSV, 21 CFR Part 11, and EU GMP Annex 11.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience in pharma, biotech, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries is highly desirable.
