Overview
As a SLAM Engineer at RIVR, part of Amazon, you will advance real-time localization and mapping for our autonomous delivery robots.
You’ll build online and offline SLAM algorithms by fusing cameras, Li DAR, IMU, GNSS, and more, and validate them on real-world data.
You’ll contribute to dynamic environment mapping and sensor calibration to sustain precise navigation in unstructured settings.
You will deliver deployment-ready code within hardware constraints and help establish best practices, supporting our mission to enable safe, reliable autonomous last-mile delivery.

- Develop state-of-the-art localization and SLAM algorithms using multi-sensor data (cameras, Li DAR, IMU, GNSS)
- Design and validate algorithms on challenging real-world data
- Contribute to dynamic mapping with data from ongoing robot deployments

- Support efficient ground-truth data capture and map creation for evaluation

- Background in computer vision, robotics, or autonomous driving with SLAM/visual/Li DAR experience
- Strong fundamentals in linear algebra, calculus, probability and optimization
- Production-level C++ coding with Python prototyping
