4IP Group is seeking a Founding Fractional General Partner for Invisible Heart Ventures II

4IP Group is looking for a senior, entrepreneurial investment professional to help structure, raise, launch and co-manage Invisible Heart Ventures II (IHV2), our proposed impact venture capital fund connecting institutional capital with scalable innovation across Eastern Africa, India and selected frontier markets.

The mandate

As Founding Fractional General Partner, you will work alongside Dr Christian Kingombe and 4IP Group to:

  • Refine IHV2’s investment thesis, fund architecture, portfolio construction and risk framework;
  • Lead the fundraising strategy and LP engagement process;
  • Mobilise a first close of approximately USD 30 million by 30 June 2027;
  • Help position the fund toward its longer-term target size of USD 100 million;
  • Develop relationships with family offices, funds of funds, foundations, DFIs, institutional investors, impact investors and UHNWIs;
  • Lead or support investment sourcing, screening, due diligence, valuation, structuring and Investment Committee processes;
  • Strengthen fund governance, reporting, compliance, portfolio monitoring and exit planning;
  • Support the recruitment and development of the wider fund-management team; and
  • Represent IHV2 credibly in international private-capital and impact-investment markets.

Investment focus

IHV2 will invest primarily from Seed to Series B in commercially scalable, impact-embedded businesses operating across Eastern Africa—including the DRC, Ethiopia and Zambia—India and selected frontier markets.

Priority sectors include:

  • Climate and energy transition;
  • AgriTech and food systems;
  • Digital infrastructure and FinTech;
  • Industrial and resource efficiency; and
  • Technology-enabled solutions addressing structural inclusion and market-access gaps.

Approximately 25–33% of the portfolio is expected to be allocated to India, supporting a distinctive India–Africa investment corridor and opportunities for knowledge, technology and commercial transfer between the two regions.

What makes this opportunity different

IHV2 is being developed from within 4IP Group’s existing impact-investment and transaction ecosystem.

The prospective GP will benefit from:

  • A developing pipeline of impact-oriented ventures across Africa, India and other emerging markets;
  • 4IP Group’s experience in investor readiness, capital raising, impact measurement and transaction support;
  • Existing relationships with entrepreneurs, investors, development institutions and ecosystem partners;
  • An AI-enabled Capital and Investment Intelligence engine supporting research, pipeline development, investor matching and institutional knowledge;
  • An impact-management framework informed by the SDG Impact Standards, IRIS+ and GIIN-aligned practices; and
  • A GP philosophy centred on disciplined investing, active stewardship, ethical leadership and measurable long-term value creation.

The profile we are seeking

The successful candidate should offer:

  • A significant track record in venture capital, private equity, growth capital or impact investing;
  • Direct experience launching and managing at least three investment funds or comparable vehicles;
  • An active and demonstrable LP network capable of materially supporting the targeted first close;
  • Experience fundraising from family offices, funds of funds, UHNWIs, foundations, DFIs or institutional investors;
  • Strong investment-analysis, portfolio-construction, governance and deal-structuring capabilities;
  • A practical understanding of emerging- and frontier-market risks, including currency, governance, political and exit constraints;
  • The credibility to engage sophisticated LPs and represent the fund internationally;
  • Entrepreneurial drive and the willingness to build an emerging fund platform; and
  • Genuine alignment with the principle that impact integrity is part of fiduciary responsibility rather than a separate reporting exercise.

This is a platform-building and capital-mobilisation mandate—not a learning role or a conventional salaried position. The fractional commitment, GP responsibilities, management-company participation, carried-interest allocation and other economics will be negotiated according to experience, capital-mobilisation capacity, time commitment and long-term contribution.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate how their investor relationships and fundraising experience could contribute to achieving IHV2’s first close by 30 June 2027.

The role may be performed from a leading international venture-capital or private-capital hub, with periodic collaboration in Switzerland and IHV2’s target markets.

Exploratory discussions will be handled confidentially.
