We are currently looking for an experienced Operational Purchaser to join one of our aviation clients based in Switzerland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily purchasing activities, ensuring the timely availability of materials and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to support operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily purchasing activities and process purchase orders.
- Source and procure materials, components, and services according to operational requirements.
- Monitor supplier deliveries and ensure materials arrive on time.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Follow up on outstanding purchase orders and resolve delivery issues.
- Coordinate with logistics, warehouse, and production departments.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and update information in ERP systems.
- Support inventory management and material planning activities.
- Assist with supplier performance monitoring and procurement improvements.
- Ensure compliance with internal purchasing procedures and quality standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in operational purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Experience in the aviation or aerospace industry is highly desirable.
- Good knowledge of purchasing processes, supplier management, and material coordination.
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP or similar).
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- EU citizenship or valid Swiss work permit.
