Role overview

The Data Governance Project Onboarding Specialist helps new projects and teams adopt the TDI Data Governance Platform in a structured, practical way. The role connects business needs with the DataGov team methodology: identifying relevant initiatives, translating requirements into governed data models, integrating data processes into Databricks and OpenMetadata, and enabling data owners and stewards to work effectively from day one.

Responsabilities

  • Identify candidate projects for onboarding, especially initiatives emerging from historical core business streams and organizational centers.
  • Gather and structure business and data requirements from documents, articles, reports, workshops, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Apply the DataGov team methodology to develop data models and identify data-pyramid constraints, including reference-data requirements and integration with existing reference data.
  • Use the team’s tools and standards to integrate data processes into the TDI Data Architecture, including Databricks and OpenMetadata for data governance.
  • Plan technical deployments and coordinate the activities, dependencies, environments, and readiness checks needed for a controlled rollout.
  • Identify data owners and data stewards in each new project, clarify their responsibilities, and establish the governance operating model.
  • Plan and deliver onboarding and role-based training for data owners, data stewards, and relevant project contributors.
  • Document decisions, models, data constraints, governance responsibilities, and onboarding outcomes so that each project can be supported and maintained.

Required Expertise

  • Proven experience in data management, governance and analytics.
  • Strong ability to gather, clarify, and prioritize requirements with business teams and technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) and data warehouses / lakes - Snowflake, Fabric; a data catalogue or governance platform is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with an Enterprise Architecture tool - LeanIX would be a plus.
  • Strong data modelling and analytical skills.
  • Service-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills; business process analysis and modelling a plus.
  • Fluent English and French, with the ability to facilitate workshops and deliver training in both languages.
  • Good knowledge of Databricks and Python.
  • Familiarity with OpenMetadata, data catalogues, metadata management, reference data management, or data lineage.
