About Albatross

Albatross builds perception models: AI that understands human behavior and powers product discovery the way a great salesperson does, by observing the customer and adapting in real time.

LLMs understand words.

We understand behavior.

Our models power discovery for 50 million+ shoppers a month. The results are public. Wallapop: +119% homepage engagement, +35% overall engagement. Offer

Up: +84% homepage engagement, +20% overall engagement.

One platform, four primitives: discovery feed, similar items, playlist, contextual search.

A customer goes live in seven weeks.

The pipeline is global.

We are deployed in 12 countries.

About the Job

You own our contracts, end to end: the NDA, pilot and production agreements, renewals, DPAs and GTCs, and R&D agreements. Fast to sign, safe to run.

We want an owner who likes things simple.

Not a reviewer who sends comments back, but the person who takes the pen, negotiates with the other side's counsel, and closes.

Our contracts are short, clear and written for business people.

Keep them that way.

Today the CEO negotiates the contracts.

He will hand them to you and expect you to close them faster than he does.

You understand what we build.

Data flows in through an API, models learn from it, predictions flow out.

Our contracts have to say exactly that, in plain words: what we process, what we learn, what we keep, what the customer owns.

As our models grow, data processing and privacy become the heart of the job.

You build the legal frameworks the go-to-market team runs on: templates, standard positions, a playbook.

One lawyer, outside counsel when it matters, and a contract stack Sales can run without you.

  • Own every customer contract end to end: draft, negotiate and close pilots, production agreements, data processing agreements, group agreements and partnerships, with marketplaces in Europe, the US, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
  • Build and own the legal frameworks for the go-to-market team: templates, standard and fallback positions, a negotiation playbook, and a register of every commitment and renewal date, so Sales closes standard deals without you and escalates the rest.
  • Own the data and model terms in every agreement: what we process, what we learn, what we keep, in language a customer's product team can read.
  • Lead data protection and AI compliance: GDPR, the Swiss FADP, the EU AI Act, US state privacy law and international transfers.
  • Run security and compliance reviews with enterprise customers together with

Engineering: the vendor due-diligence pack, DPIAs and transfer assessments, SOC 2, customer questionnaires.

  • Be the business partner to the CEO, Sales, Customer Success and

Engineering: in the deal room, not after it, making sure every contract reflects how the technology actually works and stays short.

  • Handle the rest as it comes: corporate and investor documentation for our next round, employment across 10+ countries, intellectual property, and the judgment to know when to bring in outside counsel.

Who you are

  • Qualified lawyer, min 6 years in: top-tier firm in M&A, venture or technology, then in-house at a technology company, ideally as its first lawyer.
  • You have negotiated technology contracts across the table from enterprise counsel and closed them: licensing, API and Saa S agreements, data processing agreements, partnerships.
  • You like simple and clear. You write contracts people actually read, you prefer a three-page offer to a thirty-page one, and you cut what does not matter.
  • You understand the technology.

You can read an API specification and a data flow and turn them into terms: what is processed, what is learned, what is owned, what is promised on performance.

  • You know data protection cold: GDPR applied to a data-heavy product, international transfers, and what the EU AI Act will ask of us. Swiss law governs our contracts.
  • You own your work.

You take the pen, you decide which risks matter, you explain the rest in one sentence to non-lawyers, and you close.

You know when outside counsel is worth the money and when it is not.

  • You have worked cross-border, with US counterparties or US-law contracts, and you draft and negotiate in English at native level.
  • You are eligible to work in Europe.

You will not inherit a legal function. You will be one.

What success looks like

3 months

  • You have read every signed contract and you know every commitment and renewal date. The register is yours.
  • The go-to-market frameworks are in place: templates and playbook updated, and Sales closes standard deals without you.
  • Every live customer is on the new contract stack.
  • Standard deals need no lawyer: NDA, pilot and production agreement go out on your templates and come back signed.
  • Data protection is in-house: the due-diligence pack is current.

12 months

  • The CEO is out of contract negotiations. You lead every open one.
  • Every customer is on one contract stack. No legacy terms, no surprises.
  • Security and privacy reviews pass without a fight: the due-diligence pack answers the questions before customers ask them.
  • Europe-based: €100k-€120k gross salary.
  • Full remote flexibility across Europe.
